Seven batches of COVID-19 vaccines set to arrive in Vietnam

The initial batch of 117,000 COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca arrived in the country on February 24. They are to be prioritised specifically for those on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic, including medical workers, doctors, nurses, contact tracers, and officials on COVID-19 prevention and control committees. The second batch, expected to arrive within the first half of this year, will be made up of 1.5 million additional doses, of which 1.2 million will be provided by COVAX, with the rest made up of those by AstraZeneca. These doses will also be prioritised for those on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic, with the addition of diplomatic personnel, customs officers, immigration officers, and soldiers. Kotam tourist site: An example of integrating ecological tourism and local cultural identity

Located nine kilometres from the centre of Buon Ma Thuot city, Kontam tourist site is an attractive destination for tourists, particularly at weekends and public holidays. Covering a total area of 17 hectares and hosting magnificent hills, mountains, waterfalls, springs, valleys, and accommodation facilities imbued with the typical culture and architecture of the E De ethnic group, Kotam welcomes more than 400,000 tourists every year. First batch of Sinovac vaccine arrives in Singapore, but it is not approved yet

Sinovac's product is a more traditional inactivated vaccine, which makes use of killed virus particles. This method has been used in vaccines for diseases such as polio. Phot: Bloomberg Singapore (VNA) - Singapore received its first shipment of China's Sinovac vaccine but has yet to authorise it for use, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on February 24. It added that the vaccine maker has started submitting initial data to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). "HSA is currently awaiting Sinovac's submission of all the necessary information in order to carry out a thorough scientific assessment of the manufacturing process, safety and efficacy of the vaccine under the Pandemic Special Access Route," the MOH was quoted by The Straits Times as saying. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have received interim authorisation in the country under this route. Art show “Only love remains” to honour doctors and medical staffs

Vietnam continues repatriating citizens amid travel restrictions

The Hanoitimes - So far, more than 10,000 Vietnamese nationals have been brought home. Vietnam continues to bring home hundreds of people from different parts of the worlds in recent days as coronavirus infections and deaths keep going up worldwide, including Singapore, one of the coronavirus hotspots in Southeast Asia. Vietnamese citizens return to home country from Angola. Photo: MOFA On June 27, more than 300 Vietnamese citizens arrived in the home country from Singapore. Earlier on May 31, more than 340 were brought home from Singapore where coronavirus infections have surpassed 43,000.
