Being established for the first time in Vietnam, the “Joint-sale Alliance” in tourism sector promises to bring a new breakthrough to the industry. Retail University 2021 to help boost online sales for retailers in Vietnam

The event will be jointly held by the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), Visa – a global payments technology company, Google and other partners. Nguyen Thanh Hung, chairman of VECOM, said that there is great potential for retailers in switching from traditional trading and expanding their business to online platforms. In 2020, the Vietnamese e-commerce market reported an increase of 15 percent, reaching a scale of 13.2 billion USD. The figure is forecast to continue to increase by 2025. The country has approximately 68 million people using social networks, standing in 6th place among the top 30 most promising countries in the global retail sector. Taekwondo fighters to fight for Olympic glory

Vietnam won its first Olympic medal in any sport at the 2000 Sydney Games when Tran Hieu Ngan won silver in taekwondo. Before her, Tran Quang Ha and Ho Nhat Thong triumphed at the Asian Games in 1994 and 1998, respectively. LG’s Hai Phong smartphone factory for sale
A Business Korea report says the South Korean electronics giant has decided to terminate its loss-making mobile phone production and sales business and is taking steps to close down production plants. However, it has not been able to find buyers for the Hai Phong factory that produces about 10 million smartphones annually, about half of the company’s output. The report says Vietnamese smartphone makers already have their own facilities and local farms can’t afford to pay more than 100 billion won ($89.2 million) for LG’s factory. If LG is not able to sell the factory as a whole, it might consider selling the plant site, the report adds. LG’s smartphone division has been posting losses totaling some $4.5 billion over the last five years.
