December 21, 2018 by vnexpress Leave a Comment

ACFC, distributor of IPP Group, a major Vietnamese fashion retailer, has confirmed that they are introducing the OVS brand in Vietnam.  OVS is a popular fashion brand in Europe. In Italy, the brand has 15 percent of the market share in the country's children aged 0-14 segment.  The company’s products range is geared towards consumers of all ages. Its collection stretches from bold, urban looks, to elegant, formal office attire. At the same time, the OVS price tag targets the mass consumer segment.  An increasing middle-class population has made Vietnam a magnet for international fast fashion brands, industry insiders have noted.  The middle and affluent class, categorized as those earning $714 a month or more, would double to 33 million, about a third of the population, between 2014 and 2020, the Nikkei Asian Review reported recently, citing a study by the Boston Consulting Group. A green-red rivalry heats up food delivery market

November 29, 2018 by vnexpress Leave a Comment

Last week, a sea of red filled the inside of a milk tea shop in Ho Chi Minh City instead of regular young customers usually found in such places. GoViet drivers were queuing up to purchase food ordered by customers over its online deliver app Go Food, which was running a 50-percent discount program along with free delivery within 5 kilometers. The very next morning, the shop was filled with green shirts of Grab drivers. Grab had launched a free delivery promotion for the first 999 cups of milk tea ordered. Gradually, the green shirt – red shirt war is becoming visible on the streets. Despite being new entrants in the online food delivery market, both Go Viet and Grab are using various measures to attract and capture customer habits. Everyday, these two tech companies spend big on promotions across a wide range of food and drinks. They are also recruiting stars from the entertainment industry to endorse their service. From the get go, Go Viet had announced a partnership with … [Read more...] about A green-red rivalry heats up food delivery market

Lotteria, entering the country since 2004, has also quickly cemented its position holding 60-70 per cent of the hamburger and sandwich market with 220 stores nationwide. Taking advantage of being fast food pioneers and offering acceptable priced dishes, good service, and clean spaces, KFC and Lotteria have continued to hold their positions in the market, despite new players, including McDonald’s, Jollibee, and Burger King, all competing for customers. The latest financial reports of KFC and Lotteria recorded revenues of trillions of VND. Soldiers and police have held show of force drills ahead of Boracay's planned shutdown AFP/NOEL CELIS Assault-rifle wielding police were posted at entry points to the once-pristine island that has become tainted by heavy commercialisation and overdevelopment. Regional police head Cesar Binag told AFP the shutdown began past midnight, with tourists barred from boarding the ferry that is the main way onto the island. The angel child

He smiled at himself to ease his tension. Soon he was relaxed after two cups of coffee. He laughed quietly. The stories of his marriages were very simple. His first wife was five years older than him. She was the owner of a tea stall by the roadside. In addition to tea, sweets, biscuits, bananas and a lot of simple fast food such as sticky rice cakes and boiled eggs, and so on and so forth, she also sold spirits for lorry drivers who, after their long and tiresome journeys, called at her place for a rest and something to eat and drink. At first, he only flirted with her by caressing her hands while drinking; nevertheless, she made him dizzy with her amorous looks. In his eyes, she was quite charming. Her heart was true but her love was false. One day, she told him that she was with child, and he agreed to take her as his wife without a wedding. No problem, provided that each month he dropped in on her. Then their second baby came into being when the first one was only two years old. … [Read more...] about The angel child
