500 representatives to join Vietnam M&A Forum 2019

The press conference announcing Vietnam M&A Forum 2019 This was announced by the organising board at the July 23 Hanoi press conference announcing Vietnam M&A Forum 2019. The 11th annual Vietnam M&A Forum held by Vietnam Investment Review and AVM Vietnam under the theme "Going for breakthrough" will take place at GEM Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Accordingly, the M&A Forum will have three main sessions, namely policy dialogue, identifying breakthrough fields, and brand issue in M&A activities. Competition rising in VN ice cream market

Ice cream is also a market where local and foreign brands are battling it out for market share. The Kido Group, formerly Kinh Do, posted its highest revenue growth for three years in 2018 after selling its snacks business. The new strategy - fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) including cooking oil, instant noodles, and frozen foods - lay behind the growth. When penetrating into new markets, the group defined its priorities as market dominance and testing as well as developing its ice cream category, with the aim of remaining the market leader despite the increasing competition and slowing growth in FMCG. Less-than-expected growth Kido Foods, which owns ice cream and other frozen food brands, holds a 40 per cent market share and has a huge distribution network of up to 70,000 points throughout the country. Vietnam M&A Forum 2019 will be held at GEM Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 This morning (July 23, 2019) in Hanoi, the Organising Board of the Vietnam M&A Forum 2019, under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), held a press conference announcing the forum's 2019 edition. After a decade of strong growth with thousands of transactions and a total transaction value of nearly $50 billion, the Vietnamese M&A market entered a new era with many new opportunities. Total M&A deal value in 2018 reached $7.64 billion, equaling 74.9 per cent compared to 2017. However, without Sabeco’s record deal, the pulling factor in 2017, the deal value in 2018 increased by 41.4 per cent. In the first six months of 2019, the total value of announced M&A deals in Vietnam only reached $1.9 billion (equal to 53 per cent of the same period in 2018, which had the value of $3.55 billion). Consumer lending a contested landscape

Competition is heating up in Vietnam's consumer lending market as existing foreign financial organizations rush to expand as new entrants join the market. The joint venture, which marks Hyundai Card’s first overseas endeavor, is touted as a new growth engine in the Southeast Asian market in a company statement.
