Hanoi (VNA) - The Solar Storage System (ESS) offers a low-cost and low-emissions solution for peak-hour power supply, helping Vietnam pursue low emissions development and ensuring economic growth, according to an expert at a workshop held in Hanoi on January 27. Mark Leslie, Managing Director of the Green Investment Group at Macquarie Capital, said the solution helps integrate solar power into the grid. Energy storage is the capture of energy produced at one time for use at a later time, to reduce imbalances between demand and generation. According to a representative from the Blueleaf Energy company - an organiser of the workshop - the solar energy storage system allows the use of low-cost solar power at noon to charge and then discharge during peak hours to meet peak loads. Solar power sources are intermittent and fluctuate during the day, thus causing several issues for grid operation. The combination between the source and the energy storage system can lead to more stable … [Read more...] about Solar energy storage system offers low-cost solution for Vietnam

Wind, solar power sees new boom
With the preferential pricing mechanism, solar power has seen a boom in Vietnam in recent years. In 2019 alone, the total capacity of grid-connected solar power put into operation was 5GW. Most of the solar power projects were in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces (more than 2GW). … [Read more...] about Wind, solar power sees new boom
Electricity dispatch centre asks for better infrastructure
Hanoi (VNA) - The National Load Dispatch Center (A0) has asked Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to equip it with better infrastructure for the operation of a future wholesale and retail electricity market with more renewable energy resources. According to a representative of the centre, wind and solar power plants have been put into operation on a large scale but data on their scale and generating capacity is not yet accurate. The representative added that rooftop solar power, with a capacity of up to 9,583 MWp, was affecting the load chart, making it tough to plan the power system operation as well as the market, especially due to the limitations of the transmission grid, particularly the 500kV / 220kV grid in the north. The centre also said the operation processes of the hydroelectric plants with a capacity of more than 30 MW had shortcomings to fit with electricity market regulations. As the future infrastructure will convert the transaction cycle from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, while … [Read more...] about Electricity dispatch centre asks for better infrastructure

To sustain this rapid expansion of the economy while adapting to the new normal brought about by COVID-19, digitisation is the solution. Asia will need new energy solutions and strategies. Technology and innovation are required for achieving far greater energy efficiency. … [Read more...] about The “next normal” in business is sustainability
With the presence of AEON, The New City becomes a real estate hub in Binh Duong
AEON Thuan An is another example. Six years ago, when entering Binh Duong, it contributed to a remarkable transformation in the local real estate market. Before 2014, apartment prices in Binh Duong were only VND10-15 million per square metre. When AEON Binh Duong Canary opened, they increased sharply to VND20-25 million per square metre from 2015 to 2018. In 2019 and 2020, the prices rose to VND30–35 million or even VND45 million per square metre. … [Read more...] about With the presence of AEON, The New City becomes a real estate hub in Binh Duong
