PM praises lorry driver who saved girl who fell from tower block in Hanoi

Around 5:30pm on February 28, an unattended girl climbed over the balcony of her flat and hung on the outside of the building. Witnessing the scene, residents in the opposite tower screamed for help and, just a few seconds later, the girl’s hand slipped and she fell. At that moment, Manh, who was waiting for his customer on the ground, noticed the emergency and quickly climbed to the roof of the lobby and caught the falling girl. The girl fortunately only suffered minor injuries and was immediately admitted to hospital while Manh’s action has been receiving plenty of praise on social media. Red Spring Festival expects to collect over 4,000 blood units Young people donate their blood In his opening remarks, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) Bach Quoc Khanh, who is head of the festival’s organizing board, said that the festival has been held annually since 2008 to address blood shortages after the lunar New Year holiday, and gradually changed public awareness of blood donation. After 13 editions, the festival has collected over 85,000 blood units and become the annual biggest blood donation event. Khanh took the occasion to express his gratitude for donators nationwide. Russia-Vietnam strategic partnership: natural result of long-term relations

Digital economy predicted to reach $43 billion by 2025

Vietnam’s digital economy is expected to reach $43 billion by 2025, according to the e-Conomy Southeast Asia report from Google, Temasek and new partner Bain & Company. Social distancing lifted from Vietnam’s COVID-19 epicenter

Strict social distancing measures will be lifted from the northern province of Hai Duong, Vietnam’s COVID-19 epicenter at present, from Wednesday, as the locality will focus on pandemic control while boosting socio-economic development. Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Xuan Thang said at a meeting on Monday that extending the social distancing period would be unnecessary. The province will enter a new state and concentrate on the double goal of fighting COVID-19 and promoting socio-economic development, Thang continued.
