To date, 29 bodies have been recovered, while 41 people are still missing, according to officials. Ferry KMP Lestari Maju, heading to Selayar Island, went down at 2:30 pm (local time) in the waters of Selayar of South Sulawesi province, just 300m away from a seaport. The search continued in more favourable weather conditions. A navy ship and diving boat were deployed along with personnel from the search and rescue office. Two dead as coach carrying Vietnamese workers crashes in Laos
Hanoi (VNA) – Two people were killed and five others were injured in a car crash in Phalanxay district, Savannakhet province of Laos on June 21, said the Vietnamese Consulate General in Laos. The two deceased were Pham Van Binh, born in 1987, and Nguyen Van Tho, born in 1994. Both were residents of Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau district, the central Nghe An province. The five injured people were sent to a general hospital of Savannakhet province. The initial cause of the accident was said that a coach with 23 Vietnamese workers onboard collided with a truck going in the same direction. The coach was en route from the province’s Muang Phin district to a station in Seno town. The Vietnamese Consulate General in Laos worked with local authorities to take necessary measures to help the deceased’s relatives to bring the two bodies home on June 22. One dead, six hospitalized in pile-up in southern Vietnam
One person was killed and six others injured following a collision on Sunday involving multiple vehicles in southern Vietnam. The accident happened at around 6:00 pm on a section of National Highway 20 in Dinh Quan District, Dong Nai Province. The bus steered by 52-year-old Bui Quang Ha was traveling on the road when it hit a seven-seater car running in the same direction. The impact pushed the bus toward the left side of the highway, causing it to crash into a long-haul bus of Futa Buslines that was carrying 40 passengers in the opposite direction. The Futa bus lost control, went off the street, and only stopped after ramming a rubber tree at a nearby plantation.
