Youth in Da Nang join hands to clean Son Tra peninsula
Over 200 young volunteers in the central Da Nang city have gathered to clean up Son Tra peninsula, one of the tourist attractions in the city. The activity is in respond to the action month for environment. The event, initiated by the city’s Department of Tourism aims to improve people’s awareness of environmental protection. Forest fire season begins in central Da Nang city as heat wave here is prolonged and fiercer. The city forest fire service and local firemen are increasing their patrol, and monitoring to minimize the number of forest fires. US aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson arrives in Da Nang
U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson arrived in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang around Monday noon, commencing a visit to Vietnam for the first time in more than four decades. The huge warship, accompanied by guided missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain and destroyer USS Wayne E.Meyer, will have a five-day stay in the central port city, marking the biggest U.S. military presence in Vietnam since the war ended in 1975.
