On October 20, popular Vietnamese singer My Tam will perform in her first live concert in South Korea at the Jangchung stadium in Seoul. It promises to be a sellout event with all tickets near the stage sold out and only a few slots left for those at a distance, event organizers said. The website selling the tickets crashed a few days ago in the rush of people trying to buy tickets. My Tam had previously planned the live show for September 15, but said she was deferring it to give more time for fans in Vietnam to get visas to South Korea. Better, universal payment system needed for public transit: experts
Viet Nam News HCM CITY — A contactless payment system for public transport in HCM City could save costs and increase customer satisfaction, experts said at a conference on modern payments systems for public transit on Friday. Lê Hoàn of the HCM City Management Centre of Public Transport said that buses satisfied only 4.7 per cent of the city’s travel needs, and that most passengers still used printed tickets. The city has been developing a smart card system which allows passengers to use cards issued by bus companies that are topped up with money to purchase digital tickets, without using cash. However, he said the city should focus on linking different ticketing systems together into a more universal one. Railway ticket prices for long trips cut 20-50%
Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Passengers buying train tickets 20 days in advance of their journey will have the price reduced, ranging from 20 per cent to 50 per cent, the Sài Gòn Railway Transport JSC has announced. The promotion applies to trips of more than 1,000km on the Thống Nhất (North - South) route and TPHCM–Huế route at Sài Gòn Train Station. Passengers booking train tickets 20 days before the departure date will enjoy a cut of 20 per cent to 30 per cent, on routes from HCM City to the central provinces of Quy Nhơn, Nha Trang and Quãng Ngãi. Price reductions will not apply for passengers on air-conditioned four sleeper-seat cabins. Tickets can be returned or exchanged 72 hours prior to the departure date.
