A man from the southern Vietnamese province of Dong Nai has been following his passion of making Nguyen Dynasty (1802 – 1945) royal costumes and accessories. Tran Quang Minh Tan, a sociology graduate, started researching the Nguyen Dynasty royal garments in 2013, seven years before he decided to switch his career to this path in 2020. He moved from Bien Hoa City in Dong Nai to Hue City -- Vietnam’s former imperial capital -- for the convenience of his new endeavor. Tan said what made him come to this decision was the comeback of antique costumes, jewelry, and accessories amongst the Vietnamese youth. “I find that our ancestors' clothes are very delicate and elegant," said Tan. Tuong San takes part in busy schedule in Miss International 2019
So far during the competition, the beauty has taken part in the national costume, talent, and swimsuit segments. The 19-year-old girl stands at 1.71 metres tall with measurement of 82-62-95. As a model, she is confident of putting in a strong performance on stage. Tuong San selects a pink outfit featuring cherry petals that is suitable for meeting the criteria of the organisers. The results of each of the pageant’s sub-contests to decide the Top 15 will be announced during the grand final on November 12. As vegetables pile up, Hanoi shoppers pay at will
The drizzle in late February could not stop farmers of Dong Cao Village in Hanoi’s outlying district of Me Linh from pushing themselves to the fields to harvest vegetables. The more packs of tomatoes and lettuces are delivered, the bigger hope they see to get a break-even point. Dozens of beds of sugar beets were left unharvested while mustard greens were severely destroyed by pests. Tomatoes, easier to be consumed, were loaded into big bags, pilling up at a front yard of Dong Cao Village Cooperative while waiting to be shipped to the city center.
