Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27. Haiphong reopens cafes and restaurants
The northern city of Haiphong has reopened local cafes and restaurants from today, March 1. Under the municipal people’s committee’s decision issued on February 28, from today, all local cafes and restaurants in the city are allowed to be reopened. The other services, including hairdressers, casinos, golf courses and bus stops are also permitted to be resumed. Many services in Haiphong reopened from today Events such as festivals and religious ceremonies, sports tournaments, wedding parties and gatherings with more than 20 people are not allowed to be reopened. Non-essential services such as karaoke parlours, bars, cinemas and dental clinics will remain suspended until further notice. Tet rituals of Vietnamese ethnic people will be re-enacted
The Hanoitimes - Ethnic groups in northeast mountainous area will showcase their colorful vibrant rituals at the festival. Hanoi raises Covid-19 prevention and control alert to highest level
The Hanoitimes - If no swift action is taken to handle the outbreaks in the community, it is very likely that the pandemic would spread out. Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung has requested relevant units to apply urgent measures to curb Covid-19 disease from spreading as Hanoi may continue to record new Covid-19 cases in the community in the time ahead.
