All six SEVEN.AM stores in the capital city opened after the Vietnam Directorate of Market Surveillance said it did not find any sign that the chain had replaced made-in-China labels on its products with Vietnamese ones as reported by local media. However, Hanoi-based MHA Jsc, which owns the SEVEN.AM brand, was fined VND110 million ($4,740) for some labeling mistakes, including listing incorrect information on its products including year of production and material used, the directorate said in a statement. Another company, Thu Ky International Fashion, a franchisee of SEVEN.AM, was fined VND60 million ($2,585) for similar mistakes. Shoppers wait in long queues during grand opening of Vietnam’s first Uniqlo store
Shoppers have had to wait for at least an hour to enter Vietnam’s first-ever store of famous Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo following its grand opening in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on Friday. Uniqlo Dong Khoi, located at the Parkson Saigon Tourist Plaza on the corner of Le Thanh Ton and Dong Khoi Streets in District 1, was officially open on Friday morning. The three-story store, which covers a total area of more than 3,000 square meters, welcomed over 2,000 guests on its first day, according to a Uniqlo representative. The number of customers appeared to be even larger on Saturday. According to a local motorbike taxi driver, the waiting line nearly doubled that on Friday. 14 million USD invested in start-ups at Techfest

A series of seminars were organised by 12 technology villages during the three-day event, attracting 250 foreign investors and experts, and nearly 300 start-ups. The first prize in the National Innovation Talent Contest for Start-ups was awarded to MultiGlass, a start-up providing smart technology to help people with disabilities use computers.
