Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) has announced a 30 trillion VND (over 1.28 billion USD) credit package to support its customers to overcome difficulties amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The package includes exemptions and reductions of lending rates as well as extending and rescheduling debts for both businesses and individuals. Accordingly, 20 trillion VND (858 million USD) would be given to support firms to restructure their debts. In addition, Techcombank will also reduce interest rates for customers by up to 2 percent. It also committed to ensuring credit sources to support companies to resume business after the end of the pandemic. Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam’s exporters must self-verify the origin of their products that they export to the European Union (EU) from 2019 to be qualified for Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) which is the tariff preference for developing countries. With the aim of integrating further into the global economy, Vietnam has joined many free trade agreements (FTAs) that have the self-certification mechanism of origin. Self-certification of origin is a mandatory requirement of the EU for some countries, including Vietnam. The Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said under the requirement, the responsibility for verifying product origin will be shifted from authorities to enterprises or exporters. Enterprises will have to perform all the steps themselves, meeting the requirements of product origin and be accountable for their accuracy.
