Nawaplastic still hungry for Binh Minh Plastic shares Owning a dominant stake in Binh Minh Plastic (BMP) did not quench Nawaplastic Industry Co., Ltd. (Nawaplastic)’s thirst for BMP shares. Most recently, Nawaplastic registered to buy an additional 1.17 million BMP shares to increase its holding to 44.525 million shares, equalling 54.39 per cent of the charter capital. The transaction is expected to occur between June18 and July16. The registered share volume is the remaining part of the 2.86 million shares that Nawaplastic failed to buy during previous transactions. Notably, Nawaplastic registered to buy 2.86 million BMP shares during transactions on May 14-June 12, however, the Thai investor ended up buying 1.69 million of the registered shares as BMP did not match Nawaplastic’s target price. BMP manufactures and trades civil and industrial products made of plastic and rubber. US President Donald Trump announces his decision on the Iran nuclear deal in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House in Washington, DC. (SAUL LOEB/AFP) President Donald Trump defied the pleas of his European allies and pulled the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday (May 8), vowing to reimpose crippling sanctions on Tehran and warning that Iranians deserve a better government. His decision itself came as little surprise - the US leader has long scorned what he called the "disastrous" 2015 accord - but his suggestion that the regime must change underlined the risks of a dangerous new escalation in the Middle East. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo promised that Washington will work with its friends to build a new agreement to curtail Iran's alleged quest for nuclear weapons - but there was no disguising that Trump's decision marked a stark diplomatic defeat for Europe, whose leaders had begged him to think again. "I am announcing today that the United States … [Read more...] about Trump announces US withdrawal from ‘defective’ Iran deal
Companies in Vietnam have experienced fierce competition over the last few years, both qualitative and quantitative. Many have been forced to close down while others are still in business but struggling to move forward. Customers would have previously mentioned Kinh Do in the south or Hai Ha in the north, but today they may name a long list of bakery brands: Top Cake, Tous Les Jours, ABC, … [Read more...] about How best to maintain brand value?
Late one Sunday afternoon Ms. Ly Nguyen, a housewife in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh district, went to the local Phuc An Khang pharmacy to buy some cough drops for her son. When she got there she was surprised to see its doors closed for renovations and that the signage had changed to An Khang pharmacy, with the familiar logo of Mobile World. “I’m used to buying medicine and medical supplies for my family there because it’s near my house and its prices are reasonable,” she said. Despite the change in ownership, “I’ll still shop there if they have the same products and prices,” she added. Competitive spaceA raft of new pharmacy chains has appeared in Vietnam’s major cities over recent years, especially in Ho Chi Minh City, sparking competition among pharmaceutical retailers. Two giant mobile retailers - Mobile World (MWG) and FPT Retail - have officially set foot in the pharma sector recently by acquiring the Phuc An … [Read more...] about Open in concert
