Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu plans boost to transport, ports

Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu is also building a wildlife safari park, a specialised inspection centre at the Cái Mép - Thị Vải Port, beautification of roads around Bãi Sau (Back Beach) in Vũng Tàu, the April 30 Park, and a 1,073ha high-tech agricultural zone in Châu Đức District. — VNS BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu Province has said it wants to complete 10 key projects in the next five years to enhance connectivity within the southern key economic region. It has planned to speed up work on two of them: the Phước An Bridge and the Biên Hòa - Vũng Tàu Expressway. The bridge will be 4.3km long, run between the province’s Cái Mép - Thị Vải and Phước An ports, and cost an estimated VNĐ4.879 trillion (US$212 million). Canal renovation project proposed to prevent flooding at Ho Chi Minh City airport

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport is seeking approval for a VND513 billion (US$22,370) canal renovation project to deal with flooding at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and its vicinity. The municipal transport department has submitted the plan on renovating Hy Vong Canal in Tan Binh District to the People’s Council for ratification. The project is aimed at improving rainwater drainage at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and other areas along the canal. The target areas cover about 1,052 hectares. The plan will also prevent flooding at public works and residential areas as well as helping improve the local environment and urbanscapes. The renovated canal will be 1,821 meters long, while two roads, about 10 meters wide each, will be built along both sides of the canal. Steel fences and lighting systems will also be installed along these roads.
