News of proposed project causes land fever
Land prices skyrocket At the beginning of February 2020, the information that a large real estate corporation had a proposal for the local government to implement a project across 800 hectares in Binh Ba commune in Chau Duc district in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province caused several real estate dealers and people in general to make a mad rush to buy land in the area. Along Highway 56 on the section running through the Binh Ba commune, crowds of people gathered to sell and buy land, which suddenly caused a land boom in Binh Ba commune. Real estate agents searched for tracts of land for sale, causing prices to skyrocket. The land in Ngai Giao town, bordering My Xuan, or the land located along Highway 56 in Binh Ba commune, was targeted for large scale urban projects, and the selling price of land increased by nearly 100% to 200% within a few days. Investors lose big money after buying land near airport projects
Land prices in some areas skyrocketed after rumors spread about new airport projects, helping some investors to get rich but causing many others to go bust. The land prices in Hon Quan district in Binh Phuoc province soared in the first two months of 2021 because of the news of the development of an airport there. People rushed to speculate land for resale, hoping to get rich overnight. However, the real estate bubble burst some days ago, causing land speculators to lose tens of billions of dong. Hon Quan authorities said it’s unclear about the project and there’s no further information except for a fact-finding trip by agencies. However, this was enough for land brokers to push land prices up and make big profits. The same occurred with land prices in the area projected for Long Thanh International Airport. Though the airport project has just kicked off and transport infrastructure items are still under construction, the land prices have skyrocketed. Some brokers said … [Read more...] about Investors lose big money after buying land near airport projects

Hongkong Land continues 132-year legacy in Vietnam
More than 130 years ago, Sir Catchick Paul Chater, who was orphaned just before his ninth birthday, moved to Hong Kong to build a bullion and land trading business. Little did he know that he would become one of Hong Kong’s most famous real estate tycoons. The young Sir Paul surveyed the Victoria Harbour by dropping a maritime plumbline to measure its depth and successfully persuaded the colonial government of Hong Kong to reclaim the land at the riverbank, marking his first step in the real estate business. In 1889, Sir Paul formed a real estate company, The Hongkong Land Investment & Agency Co., Ltd., together with Jardine, Matheson & Company’s Scottish businessman, James Johnstone Keswick, laying the first bricks to build the famous Hongkong Land empire of today. Hongkong Land – 132 - year history illustrated by iconic projects Long-standing history and heritage have been traditionally associated with luxury maisons.
