Local movie to vie for Best Foreign Film prize at OscarsNguyen Quy The movie Cha cong con (Father and Son) directed and scripted by Vietnamese director Luong Dinh Dung has been selected to compete in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 90th Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars. According to the film selection council, the paternal-themed movie has gained the highest vote, surpassing two other nominees – Dao cua dan ngu cu (The Way Station) directed by Vietnamese actress Hong Anh and Sut (Shoot) by director Viet Max, according to local media.
