Jakarta defeated many big cities of the world, namely Auckland, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Charlotte, Frankfurt, Moscow, San Francisco and Sao Paulo, to gain the status. The title is the culmination of years of groundbreaking work and transformation by the city, according to the STA website. The city has taken concrete steps to shift its car-oriented city planning paradigm and provide seamless mobility through the “Jaklingko” scheme, which facilitates interconnected transit trips for passengers. 20 youths shortlisted for Vietnam Outstanding Young Faces Award 2020
The shortlisted candidates showed outstanding achievements in various fields of science and creativity, production, national defence and security, business and start-ups, administrative management, sports, culture and art, and social activities. They were selected through secret votes of the jury from 154 nominees, including 112 male and 42 female youngsters, with the oldest being 35 years old while the youngest is 14. The secret voting results will provide a reference for the organisers to choose the top 10, who will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled for March 22, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. Vietnam launches national center for population database

Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on August 17 launched the National Center for Population Database which is the fundamental for e-government application and digital economy building. Vietnam's population database is handled mostly manually. First batch of Sinovac vaccine arrives in Singapore, but it is not approved yet

Phot: Bloomberg Singapore (VNA) - Singapore received its first shipment of China's Sinovac vaccine but has yet to authorise it for use, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on February 24. It added that the vaccine maker has started submitting initial data to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). "HSA is currently awaiting Sinovac's submission of all the necessary information in order to carry out a thorough scientific assessment of the manufacturing process, safety and efficacy of the vaccine under the Pandemic Special Access Route," the MOH was quoted by The Straits Times as saying. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have received interim authorisation in the country under this route.
