Lam Tran, 34, is a French overseas Vietnamese with over 10 years’ experience in marketing at Google Europe. He returned to Vietnam and founded Wisepass, a lifestyle app that connects users to a wide range of dining, leisure and entertainment services through paid membership packages. In 2018, Lam made WisePass available in Thailand and the Phillipines. "I believe to succeed businesses must lead their home market first, before thinking of expanding overseas," said Lam. Having set up the business in HCMC and then expanded to Hanoi, Lam regularly flew to the capital city to attend events and promote his products. Science forum for international students opens in HCM City
Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Seventy delegates from nine countries and territories are participating in the 3rd International Student Science Forum in HCM City from December 4 to 7. More Vietnamese students opting for education in New Zealand
Thanks to its efforts to bring the best experience for international students, more and more Vietnamese students are now choosing New Zealand as their international education destination, according to Education New Zealand (ENZ). ENZ said last week that over the course of 2017, New Zealand welcomed over 2,500 Vietnamese students, with the number of secondary school students adding up by 36 per cent on-year, while university student numbers growing by 14 per cent on-year. The first half of 2018 has continued to see positive growth with an increase in first-time student visas. Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam ranked fifth among countries and territories sending their students to Australia in February 2018, according to a recent report from Australia's Ministry of Education and Training. International students arriving in Australia in February increased by 12 percent compared to the same period in 2017 to 542,054. Vietnamese students are among the best academic performers in Southeast Asia, and even join their Chinese peers to surpass students from developed countries outside the region, according to a new report. Vietnam surpassed the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand to stand only behind Singapore in terms of scores on PISA and TIMSS tests, the World Bank revealed in its latest report. In Asia Pacific, Vietnam and China scored above average and Singapore is the only Southeast Asian country placed among the top performers. Vietnamese students graduate from Israel’s agricultural MSc course
A graduation ceremony was held for the five students and ten others from Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Uganda at TAU on February 26. Apart from the five students and those who are attending the fourth course, there are more than other 800 Vietnamese students studying and researching at agricultural centers and institutes of Israel. Addressing the event, Professor Raanan Rein, TAU Vice Rector, applauded efforts made by the students during the 18-month course. The program aims to support global food safety and security, and equip international students with knowledge to contribute to their homeland, he said.
