The theme of the celebration is ‘Làng Chài’, or ‘Fishing Village’. As you can expect, the inspiration is all things seafood, but, as always, through her array of gastronomic inventions, Chef Hải Anh elevates the dining to a unique experience. This is storytelling through food. Co-founder Thái Thanh Thủy explains that each dish is designed to evoke a part of life in the fishing villages that dot the Vietnamese coast. Music shows bring Christmas cheer to HCM City
A series of drama, music and dance shows featuring hundreds of singers, dancers and theatre artists offering something for everyone in HCM City will begin this weekend. Pop star Cam Van (right) and veteran and young singers, dancers and musicians will perform in many music shows to usher in the Christmas and New Year in HCM City. — Photo from the singer's facebook Trong Dong Entertainment Centre will cheer the Christmas and New Year and celebrate its 30 years of working with a great open-air music programme on Saturday. Exhibition displays gouache paintings by Luong Van Tien
Around 30 gouache paintings on paper by Hai Duong based painter Luong Van Tien, a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, are being displayed at an exhibition opened in Hanoi on December 7. A painting on display at the exhibition The exhibition marked the come-back of gouache paintings on paper, which used to be a favourite medium of artists graduated from the Indochina Fine Arts Colleague, now the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. Tien is one of a few Vietnamese contemporary painters who has succeeded in working in the medium. Born in 1979, Luong Van Tien has been appreciated by his colleagues for utilising the medium of gouache paintings on paper.
