The group said the awards, which were organised last week, marked the fourth title in a row in terms of the country’s best hospital. Hanh Phuc International Hospital, a member of the Hoan My Group, also won the Hospital Management Asia Awards and an Excellence Award for Most Improved Local Hospital for 2019. The hospital’s CEO, Nguyen Thuc Anh, was awarded the gold award for ‘Hospital CEO of the Year’. Twenty years ago, five large automobile manufacturers asked Vietnam to open the automobile market. But the proposal was refused. The report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to National Assembly Deputies showed that Vietnam’s automobile industry has been growing rapidly over the last two years. In 2017, Vietnam assembled 258,000 cars and the output of 250,000 products was maintained in 2018. About the achievements of the automobile industry, the report said many products have been exported to Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Central America. It has contributed billions of dollars to the state budget and generated 120,000 jobs. However, the ministry admitted too many problems in the industry, including the low locally made content ratio in products. Vietnam recorded a year-on-year rise of over 2.7 per cent in consumer price index (CPI) in the first four months of this year, marking the lowest rate of increase seen in three years, according to the General Statistics Office. The CPI in April was some 0.3 per cent higher than in the previous month and 1 per cent higher than in December 2018, representing growth of nearly 3 per cent year on year. The CPI growth in April and the average growth in the first four months this year showed the stability of Vietnam’s economy even as the world faced price fluctuations and petrol price increases. In April, some goods and services showed low levels of price growth due to the State Bank of Vietnam’s flexible monetary policies. MWG warned shareholders that Bach Hoa Xanh may not break even within the year as targeted before Viet Capital Securities (VCSC) reported that Bach Hoa Xanh will postpone the target to break even that had been set for the end of this year. Bach Hoa Xanh set the goal to reach the break-even point which excluded the general and administration expenses (G&A) of its two recently new distribution centres in the South-Central Coast. Bach Hoa Xanh is currently present in three provinces in this region with a total of 15 stores. However, Bach Hoa Xanh needs to invest in advance in distribution centres to pave the path for further stores down the road. As a result, the cost of distribution centres over revenues (including the cost of distribution centre operations and the cost of transporting goods from distribution centres to stores) has increased to around 5.5 per cent in recent months compared to 4.5 -5.0 per cent as before.
