Bus catches fire at HCMC’s An Suong tunnel

At around 6:30 a.m. on February 24, a driver, 35, who was driving the bus No. 51B-206.78 noticed some smoke coming out of the front part of the bus when entering the An Suong underpass. He stopped the bus immediately and asked the passengers to get off the vehicle. The fire quickly spread and the whole bus caught on fire. A passenger bus caught fire in the An Suong tunnel in HCM City this morning. The incident occured at around 6.30am on February 24. The driver of the bus No. 51B-206.78 noticed some smoke coming out of the front part of the vehicles when it was entering An Suong underpass. He stopped the bus and asked the passengers to get off the vehicle. The fire quickly spread and the whole bus caught on fire. Firefighters took about 15 minutes to put out the fire. Malaysian court temporarily halts deportation of 1,200 Myanmar nationals

The stay was granted until 10am on February 24, when the court will hear the groups’ application for judicial review to suspend the deportation, said New Sin Yew , a lawyer for Amnesty International and Asylum Access. The 1,200 detainees, including asylum seekers and children, were scheduled to leave on February 23 afternoon in three navy ships sent by Myanmar’s military.
