SHTP eyes $150m solar battery plant

Beside the plant, the American group also plans to build a battery research centre at the park and it would need 10ha of land for these establishments, baodautu.vn reports. According to Le Bich Loan, deputy head of the park’s management board, 16ha of land in the park was now available for the investor. As of October 2018, the SHTP has granted investment licences to 148 projects, including 93 domestically-invested projects worth more than VND38 trillion ($1.6 billion) and 55 foreign-invested ones valued at $5.4 billion. Tan Chong Group to invest extra $50 million in Da Nang

The city’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) confirmed to Viet Nam News that the company has completed procedures to soon commence the project. The agency said TCIE Viet Nam had invested $55 million between 2013-17 to produce the first locally-assembled Nissan Sunny and Nissan X-Trail SUV car models from the Da Nang-based factory – the first and only Nissan Sunny assembly plant in central Viet Nam. Minister of Information & Communications Nguyen Manh Hung signed a decision to licence the implementation of 5G for the military-run telecommunications company. This licence was granted to test and evaluate technical features and the ability to deploy telecommunications infrastructure using the fifth generation technology. Ha Noi and HCM City will be the first two cities to test Viettel’s 5G. Users will not be charged during the test period. The group must be responsible for investment efficiency and report results to the Ministry of Information and Communications. Viettel, whose brand value grew by 35.8 per cent over last year to more than US$4.3 billion, was honoured as one of the 500 most valuable brands in the world 2019. The list released by Brand Finance - a UK-based brand evaluation company on Tuesday showed the Vietnamese telecom brand took 478th position, its first time on the list. Viet Nam’s leading telecom provider was highly valued due to its presence in 10 foreign markets. David Haigh, CEO of Brand Finance said Brand Finance implements the assessment on about 5,000 brands worldwide every year in 40 different sectors with criteria of turnover and brand strength.
