New “recycling” experiments to celebrate BASF 25th anniversary in Vietnam Co-organised with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training for the ninth consecutive year, the programme will introduce two new experiments to help children learn how recycling can contribute to effective waste management and the responsible use of natural resources. Participants include primary students from Nguyen An Ninh and Nguyen Thi Nuoi Primary Schools from Hoc Mon District, Tan Thong, and Tan Phu Trung Primary Schools from Cu Chi district as well as Quang Trung and Pham Van Chieu primary schools from District 12. Three family members killed in Ho Chi Minh City house fire
Two women and a young child who were family members were killed after a fire broke out at their home in Ho Chi Minh City on early Saturday morning. The deadly incident occurred at around 1:30 am at a house on Vo Thi Nho Street in Tan Thuan Dong Ward, District 7, according to preliminary reports. The three victims were N.T.N.D., 45, N.T.M.H. – D.’s 41-year-old sister, and N.M.T. – H.’s two-year-old daughter. The house is burned down by the flames. Thaco to buy five million shares of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Agricultural JSC
Farmers of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Agricultural JSC (HNG) (Source: haagrico.com.vn) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco) has registered to buy five million shares of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Agricultural JSC (HNG). HNG is the business arm of farming group Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAG). Thaco expects to spend 73 billion VND (3.2 million USD) for the acquisition. The transactions will be conducted via agreement or order matching method, from December 4 this year to January 2 next year. After the purchase, Thaco will hold 296.4 million HNG shares, 26.7 percent of the firm. Thaco currently holds 291.4 million HNG shares. Thaco and HAG signed a cooperation contract in August 2018. Thaco Chairman Tran Ba Duong pledged to pour capital into HNG, help implement the HAG Myanmar project and arrange HNG’s loan structure. Mekong Delta provinces take steps to control saltwater intrusion

(Photo: VNA) HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Authorities in provinces in the Mekong Delta and Can Tho city are dredging irrigation works and storing fresh water to cope with saltwater intrusion during the dry season. Saltwater intrusion is expected to be more severe this year because of low flooding levels and lower than usual rainfall during the rainy season, according to local authorities. During the dry season, saline intrusion will occur earlier than usual, causing a shortage of fresh water for agricultural production, according to the Southern Institute of Water Resources Research.
