The 8th session of the 14th NA opened in Hanoi on October 21 Speaking at the opening, Politburo member and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, emphasised the importance of the eight session of the 14th NA which will take place at the end of year. Fundamentally, the draft laws, projects and reports have been prepared seriously and meticulously, ensuring the quality and progress, she noted. For the session to achieve the optimal results, the senior legislator urged the NA deputies to promote the spirit of innovation and creativity, while taking time to carefully study the documents, as well as giving comments on each issue, especially those with different viewpoints, to create high unity for the NA to make the correct decisions. After the opening announcement, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented reports evaluating the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in 2019, the socio-economic development plan in 2020.
