The trade deal offers both countries opportunities to further strengthen trade and investment cooperation, affirmed Winston, adding that New Zealand will coordinate closely with Viet Nam in the implementation of the agreement. Meanwhile, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh extended thanks to New Zealand’s parliament for approving non-refundable official development assistance for Viet Nam in the 2018-2021 period. Minh suggested New Zealand increase quota of the Working Holiday Visa program, which allow Vietnamese to study and work while enjoying holidays in New Zealand. The pair agreed to work closely together in fruitfully realizing the two countries’ action plan for 2017-2020 stage. They also agreed to foster coordination at multilateral forums like ASEAN, APEC, the United Nations, emphasizing the importance of ensuring security, safety, and freedom of navigation and aviation./.
