Local artist to hold “Land of Lost Wanderers” exhibition in Hanoi The Saigon Times Daily “Monsoon”, which is an artwork in Nguyen The Hung’s new collection that will be exhibited at Hanoi Studio Gallery from November 9 to 23 – PHOTO: COURTESY OF THE ORGANIZER HCMC – Artist Nguyen The Hung will hold an exhibition titled “Land of Lost Wanderers” at Hanoi Studio Gallery at 13 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi from November 9 to 23, introducing a collection of 24 artworks. This year marks a transformation in Hung’s artistic vision as he jumped out of his comfort zone and tried new materials such as gold, silver, water color, son paint and do paper, with the last two being unique traditional Vietnamese materials. The artist has utilized these materials skillfully. Layers of shapes are hidden underneath each other, which cannot be done on anything but do paper. Son paint is normally used for lacquer paintings as it adds a rich tone of prosperousness while revealing untold secrets. Silver and gold shine on Hung’s paintings. In this collection, small details like pairs of hands, longing eyes, and vivid lips play hide and seek in Hung’s works, leaving people wonder what they see is true or not.
