Thai Consulate General donates VND180 million to STF By Thanh Hoa Ureerat Ratanaprukse, Consul General of Thailand in HCMC (2nd L), hands over a symbolic cheque to STF – PHOTO: THANH HOA HCMC – The Royal Thai Consulate General in HCMC donated VND180 million (nearly US$7,800) to the Saigon Times Foundation (STF) on September 28. The money will be used to give scholarships to poor students in the south with good academic performance. Earlier in April, the Royal Thai Consulate General in coordination with STF granted 25 scholarships worth VND2 million each to students of Cao Thang Technical College. STF is a non-profit organization set up by the Saigon Times Group and its business partners in February 2002 to support education and training in Vietnam. Since then, STF has handed over scholarships to thousands of students nationwide on behalf of individual and institutional benefactors.
