Competition on laws for HCMC students kicks off By Minh Tuan A music performance at the launch ceremony of “HCMC Students and Laws” competition – PHOTO: MINH TUAN HCMC – The Department of Education and Training of HCMC launched the sixth “HCMC Students and Laws” competition with the theme “Youth’s Voice” at Luong The Vinh High School in District 1 on October 29. The competition, sponsored by Vietnam Kirin Beverage Company, aims to improve the students’ knowledge of laws in multiple fields such as food safety, environmental protection, and children’s rights. It is also expected to help the students develop critical thinking, logic skills, creativity, and problem solving and teamwork skills. Unlike previous editions that were organized for high school students only, this year’s competition is open to students of high schools, colleges, universities and institutions in the city. The competition has three pools including pool A for junior high schools, pool B for senior high schools, and pool C for colleges, universities and institutions. In the qualifying round at school level (October 29 – November 11, 2018) and at city level (November 15 – November 22, 2018), the students are required to complete a 20-minute test which comprises of 20 multiple-choice questions and five survey questions on the website www.tiengnoituoitre.com.
