At the meeting, the Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development expressed his wish to promote cooperation and dialogue between Hong Kong, China and Hanoi, Vietnam. He also spoke highly of the economic growth in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two major economic hubs in Vietnam. Yau Tang-wah hoped that Vietnamese and Hong Kong enterprises would work together to share their investment experience. He expressed his wish that Hanoi and Hong Kong would cooperate in the areas of information technology, railways and aviation as they are Hong Kong’s advantages. The Hanoi leader thanked the guest for his positive assessment of Hanoi, noting that Hanoi has seen outstanding socio-economic development over the past eight years. Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung hoped that the cooperation between Hong Kong (China) and ASEAN, including Vietnam,would open up a new period of investment and partnerships between the enterprises of both sides. He noted that Hanoi attaches great attention to start-ups and wishes to cooperate with Hong Kong in the area of technology start-ups.
