Nhan Dan – The 2013 Spring Press Festival opened in cities and provinces nationwide, introducing Vietnam’s political, economic, and social achievements to audiences. In Central Highlands Kon Tum province, the provincial Journalists’ Association and the Department of Information and Communications co-organised the festival to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year and the 100th anniversary of the province’s establishment (1913-2013). The event brings together more than 250 publications of central and local press agencies, offering readers information on the country’s achievements in 2012 in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defence and security. Also at the festival, Kon Tum Library displayed 500 books and 90 photos as well as documentary films featuring the development of Kon Tum province from the past to the present over the past 100 years. The Nam Dinh’s 2013 Spring Press Festival kicked off at the province’s Library on February 5 with the participation of nearly 500 press agency journals. 150 photos composed by Nam Dinh’s photographers were also on display, bringing insight into the cultural values and achievements of Nam Dinh province during its construction and development throughout the history of the nation.
