(Cinet)- A photo exhibition with the theme “Costumes and jewelry of 20th century Vietnamese women” by Friends of Hue Foundation was held on February 8th, at the French Cultural Centre in Hue. All works of art were implemented from 1935 to 1937, mostly introducing costumes, earrings, slippers, wooden shoes and conical hats which appeared in festivals, wedding and funeral ceremonies, and in the daily life of people in that period. The exhibition showcased 400 works featuring traditional costumes and jewelry of 20th century Vietnamese women nationwide and also in Cambodia and Laos. The artist responsible for the installation’s photos is Mr. Jules Gustave Besson, who was a well-known photographer, inspector of Nam Ky and Gia Dinh Fine Art School. The authors have used various techniques when drawing such as: pencil, watercolour, colour pen, wood-block., ect in modern European art .
